Pivot Electric Bikes

Where are Pivot Cycles Made?

Pivot Cycles was founded by Chris Cocalis in Phoenix Arizona in 2007. Fifteen years later, they are still headquartered there.

  • At the Phoenix Headquarters, more than 30 employees work for Pivot Cycles innovating, designing, and prototyping new bikes.
  • The bikes themselves are manufactured in Taiwan, but the Pivot Cycles team manufactures all the necessary tools and hydroforming molds in the USA before sending them to the factories in Taiwan. This lets Pivot stay on top of quality control, while also controlling prices.
  • Cocalis planted the first seed of the future brand as a freshman accounting major at Arizona State University. Dissatisfied with the quality of bikes and components available to him, he patented a new bottom brack design as “Snake Cycles."
  • Although the brand started in acoustic bikes, Pivot’s e-bikes are just as capable as their non-electric models. In terms of the components and the overall ride feel, they’re just as good. And their spirit of innovation is still evident in every bike they make.

Is Pivot a Good Electric Mountain Bike?

No one has been doing full carbon eMTBs quite as well for quite as long as Pivot. With features like the DW link, Fox suspension, and an aggressive head angle and seat tube angle, Pivot mountain bikes have been the belle of the ball across the cycling sector for years.

  • They perform at the highest levels which is why Pivot touts an arsenal of UCI downhill championships.
  • Enter the Pivot Shuttle. Pivot has taken everything riders love about their excellent mountain bike design and refined it for their eMTB.
  • They were one of the first brands to bring the discerning rider a full-carbon electric bike designed for rugged mountain trails. In fact, it wouldn’t be quite right to say it’s a “Pivot eBike." Because the Pivot Shuttle isn’t an electric bike. It’s an electric mountain bike and one that will make you ride downhill in a way you never thought was possible.

Are Pivot Bikes Durable?

Pivot is constantly innovating its carbon frames to make them lighter and stronger. The new Mach 6 Carbon has a hollow core that shaves more than 2 pounds off the previous version without sacrificing any strength.

  • They’re so durable, you can count on them to last for many years.
  • Pus, Pivot offers a great warranty on their bikes, covering defects in materials and workmanship for two years.
  • And just like FlyRides, Pivot Bikes are also known for their great customer service, so you can rest assured that you’ll be taken care of if anything goes wrong.

How Heavy Are Pivot Bikes?

At under 45 pounds, the Shuttle is very light for an e-mountain-bike, falling under 45lbs. But light doesn’t mean little. This bike is ready to go big!

  • The 726 Wh battery demolishes old expectations about range, and gives you the power to ride longer and explore deeper.
  • The full-carbon frame constructed with top-shelf carbon fiber material utilizing Pivot's proprietary molding technology is just as durable as it is lightweight. It can take anything you throw at it.
  • Pivot also now sells the Vault, a new take on electric-assist urban and gravel cycling, which comes in at just about 30 pounds.
  • And with Pivot’s full carbon frame design featuring proprietary Hollow Core internal molding technology for an optimal stiffness to weight ratio,  it isn’t flimsy either.

How Much is a Pivot Shuttle?

At FlyRides we carry the Pivot Shuttle XTR, which runs you about $11,700. That’s certainly nothing to sneeze at.

  • But this is the eMTB redefined! And we think that’s worth something.  Sleek, lightweight, capable, and beautifully crafted, with the motor and battery seamlessly integrated into its design, the Shuttle ushered in a whole new way of riding.
  • Now, the redesigned Shuttle has the juice to take your riding even further. A sophisticated carbon fiber chassis houses an equally sophisticated Shimano EP8 drive unit and a massive 726 Wh battery.
  • Plus, progressive geometry,  highly evolved dw-link suspension, and a brawny Fox 38 fork offer unmatched suspension performance and handling.
  • The Shuttle has the power to take you where you dream of going and give you the ride of your life getting there and back.

Why We Love Pivot Electric Bikes

There are a lot of benefits to being the first to do something. And Pivot was one of the first to make an ultralight, full-powered eMTB.

  • Over the years, they have refined their Pivot Shuttle--which was already an excellent bike the first year it was released--so that it remains one of the best full carbon eMTBs available to consumers.
  • Their partnership with Shimano sets you up with one of the best motor and battery combos on the market from a company that has been making excellent bike components longer than most of us have been alive.
  • They set you up with excellent suspension front and rear, a massive battery to help catapult you up hills, and top-quality components that are well worth the price.
  • With Pivot, you’re buying a tradition of excellence focused on one excellent eMTB. At Fly Rides, we curate the best bikes for our customers to ride. There was never any question in our minds about having or not having the Shuttle. It’s top-notch. The only question is whether or not you’re ready to ride one.
