Should You Buy the Bulls E-Stream EVO AM 4?
That is, if you're looking for a powerful eMTB to join you for hours on end up steep hills, without feeling the demand of the terrain. The 2020 Bulls E-Stream EVO AM 4 is equipped with that torquey Brose Drive S Mag motor that's great for sporty riders. Couple it with a SuperCore 750 Wh battery and a Shimano brake system, and you can barrel through just about any trail with the confidence of a beastly race horse.
Some Upgrades Since 2019
The 2020 model is comparable to its predecessor, though I'd like to note a key difference in this year's brake system. The 2019 Bulls E-Stream EVO AM 4 offers all of the power from that Brose Drive S Mag motor, only with Magura disc brakes to stop you. In 2020, the model includes Shimano Deore XT hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors. The stopping power on these babies is impressive. Fly Rides' own busboy, Scott Nickley took the eMTB out for a spin, and felt more confident than ever. Want to see more of his ride and full review? Of course you do, so click the link below!
Full Spec Breakdown
Top-notch components and high-end performance is the reason Bulls 2020 E-Stream EVO AM 4 bike is so beloved amongst intermediate and advanced riders. The full suspension, extended travel, and comfortable geometry make it easy to ride the long distance a 750 Wh battery allows you. Again, the Brose motor is at the core of this bike's essence, giving you an insane out-the-gate power and blissful climbs uphill. Be careful on descents, though, because that torque ain't playing around. Especially considering Brose incorporated a "Flex Power Mode." The entire drivetrain is Shimano, giving you a more playful, concise ride. Fat tire lovers will embrace the 27.5" tubless wheel set with plus size 2.8" Schwalbe Hans Dampf SpeedGrip tires. The quality doesn't stop there; you get nice 150mm travel with a Fox 36 Rhythm Float Boost Fork and a Fox Float DPS Performance Shock in the rear. Lastly, Bulls topped specs off with a Monkey Link system, handy for commuters.
Since You Were Wondering
How does this compare to the 2020 Bulls E-Stream EVO AM 3? While there is a subtle difference in price point, the biggest changes come with the type of suspension and the brake system. Attached to the EVO AM 3 is a RockShox FS 35 Fork, and a RockShox RS Deluxe Select with a Debonair air spring in the rear. You're getting slightly less travel here, with 120mm, compared to a 150mm Fox Float suspension system on the EVO AM 4. On the latter model, you also get those pricier Shimano XT brakes, as opposed to the Shimano Deore SLX attached to the EVO AM 3. Both are great options if you're in the market for a new eMTB, but I might suggest making a greater investment in the more svelte 2020 Bulls E-Stream EVO AM 4 if you're looking for the best of the specs!
The Longest Ride
Our final word? The Bulls 2020 E-Stream EVO AM 4 is the king of range! For hours on end, this model's power and performance let you climb with ease and descend with grace. The pedal assist is outrageous, response is sensitive, and the travel is generous. For a long ride in an enchanted forest, a Bulls eMTB is your steed.
